For Your Edification - A Few Pictures

These are just a few pictures taken on a recent visit to Miraflores, a Peruvian City just outside of Peru. You can see the elevation from the city down to the Pacific. The millions of stones are all round shapes from eons of time being washed ashore by the action of the sea waves. You can see the 4-lane highway down below, we walked down there and then back up. On the way home by bus, I reflected upon the micro, mini and larger bus drivers. The best I have ever experienced, sacrry as hell but good. Sometimes you could not get toilet paper between three busses going 50 miles per hour with constant stop and turns, darting in and out trying to pick up and drop of as many people as they could and as fast as they could. You really had to pay attention when crosing the streets because I think they would run you over. Yet, this was every day life to them, getting the job done with gusto !!!
The old man above appeared to be from Inida, a begger and one offended by my interest in him. After the picture, there were tears in his eyes. Culture ?
Here is my friend Alfonzo at 19 year old beautiful young man supporting his older sister as she works her way the the school of dentistry. His friend here is a famous Peruvian actor. Alfonzo is the lead waiter in one of our favorite restaurants and you young man worthy of mentorship and encouragement

Well here we are again with some of my small friends. These I met while window shoping and observing the concrete post and beam architecture. A couple of them were selling candy on the streets, absent any parents as far as I could see.

The little fellow by himself is the shoe shine lad, now wearing a new to me watch from Ohio. He was such a salesman, confident in his craft, well mannered and charming. No telling how many he was feeding.

Giovanna Diaz Anicama Robb

Good Morning to you all. Here is a few pictures of Giovanna who I met over the phone back in July. Her friend Rina was on the hunt of a young Hocking Tech. Student she had met while he was in Peru and called the house looking for him. We visited for a while over the internet and then she recommended a friend to me, and that we visit also. Giovanna and I corresponded thru email and then last month, I flew down here to Callao, Lima and we were married in one of the hotels with the help of the Gambian Socor Team. We are currently waiting on receipt of Giovanna.s immigrant visa, then we will be returning to Ohio. The police officer above is witnessing the signatures on the hand made marriage certificate prepared by one the Gambian Nationals who served in his country as a notary.
